Quick-Mix In A Jar

In a large mixing bowl, measure out ingredients and rub in the WOODENSPOON WHITE Margarine using cleaned hands, until the mixture resembles fine white breadcrumbs.

Ingredients:

1kg Cake flour
10ml Salt
50ml Baking powder
1 ¼ bricks WoodenSpoon White Margarine
250ml White sugar

 

Method

Trifle Sponge Cake
Beat 4 large eggs until light and fluffy. Add in 250ml warm milk, 5ml vanilla essence and an additional 125ml white sugar. Gently blend in 750ml Quick-Mix.
Bake at 180 º C in a greased oven pan for 20-25 minutes. Cut into cubes.

Sweet Pastry
Lightly stir enough iced water into 500ml Quick-Mix to a soft workable pastry.
Roll out on floured worktop for bottom or double-crust for apple pies etc.

Biscuits
Add 1 large egg, 5ml vanilla essence and an additional 250ml white sugar, to 625ml Quick-Mix. Flavour further if you like with essences, cocoa etc. Mix, then roll out on a floured worktop to cut shapes. Bake 190 º C for 10 -12 minutes.
Decorate when cool.

Crumble Topping
Add 150ml chopped nuts or granola cereal (or combination of these), 5ml ground cinnamon and 45ml brown sugar into 250 ml Quick-Mix, and sprinkle thickly over an 800g can of drained pears, mixed berries or unsweetened pie apples in an oven dish.
Bake 190 º C for 30 – 35 minutes until crispy and browned.
Serve with custard or vanilla ice-cream.
